Our Story

The heart behind Girls Got Game, why we started and what keeps us going

How It Started

Girls Got Game was founded by a group of West London women who were tired of being the only woman on the court. The courts around us were full of talent, but not enough spaces where women and girls could play freely, without judgement, without pressure.

So we built one. Starting with just eight players in a community sports hall, Girls Got Game has grown into a thriving club of over 100 members from teenagers picking up a ball for the first time, to mums returning to sport after years away, to experienced players competing at a high level.

Every session, every scrimmage, every high-five on the court is proof that women's basketball in West London is very much alive and growing
